A place to discuss the uniquely delectable gift from heaven known as the West Virginia Hot Dog.
Ever since a story about this blog appeared in the Logan Banner over a year ago, I have received a large number of emails that claimed that the Mecca Drive In was superior to Morrison's. It took me a while to get back but this past weekend offered a chance for me to check it out.
With apologies to George Lucas and the people of Logan County, here is the video review, our second.

A true West Virginia hot dog is a heavenly creation that begins with a wiener on a soft steamed bun. Add mustard, a chili-like sauce and top it off with coleslaw and chopped onions and you have a symphony of taste that quite possibly is the reason that many transplanted West Virginians can never really be happy living anywhere else. Different parts of West Virginia have variations on the theme but the common elements are sweet, creamy coleslaw and chili. Anything else is just not a true West Virginia hot dog!

Rumor has it that the Logan County's three Muslims are headed up towards Charleston with lead pipes and ass-kickin' on their mind.

As a once-upon-a-time Logan resident, I assure you not much in the area beats Morrison's (especially not Mecca or the also popular Parkway). Although if you're ever down there again, try Janet's Park & Eat or (my actual favorite) the Dairy Delight - in Logan, not C-ville. It used to be freakin' awesome and hopefully still is.
